The new/read indicators don't always work
Some Forum menu page items and some sub-pages indicate new threads when they've all been read. I can't turn off a false New in 'Spin Me a Yarn', 'Feature Requests', and 'Resolved'. Sometimes it's my fault for using Back instead of clicking the forum name or Refresh, but these are especially stubborn.
On the other hand, some of the menu items, sorry, I can't tell you which right now, fail to show new or updated topics.
Since they balance out, I think this is a low priority fix, LOL. It may be my cookie settings, but then why does it work most of the time?

I'm not clear on when, exactly, you're having the problem? The "New" marker won't be removed if you hit the "back" button. I haven't encountered this problem myself, so the more info you can give me about specific pages, how you're getting there, etc., the more likely it is I'll be able to solve the problem. :) Thanks!

I know the marker won't be removed using the Back button.
I open the forum, read the topic, click the forum name or Forum or hit refresh, whichever, and the "new" remains.
I listed the pages that falsely indicate "new", so I'm not sure what you are asking. When? The 'new" indicator is on permanently.
I'm getting this too. When I look at the front page of the forums i consistently get a "new" symbol for the "spin me a yarn" forum. It happened intermittently with other forums last week but it seems to have cleared up on just about everything but "spin me a yarn".
It's there if I force reload, log out and back in, and go to a different computer.

Here's an example of a 'new' NOT appearing on the Forum page. Bubbo's post above didn't trip the flag, and I just opened this in a new window because I wanted to report that a post of hers didn't trip the 'new' indicator in 'FO Show Off' without leaving that particular forum. Pardon the almost recursive sentence.
OH! Gotcha. It's on the main forum page. I'll try to dig into this. The problem might persist for a while, though, because I'm not yet clear on what might be causing it. Thankfully, it's minor! Thanks so much for clarifying.

Oh, sorry I wasn't clear and I'm glad you figured it out anyway.
