Hey Out There!!

I need some help deciding on a project. An aquaintance of mine is having her first baby (a boy) in the next month or so. I have no idea what to make for her. I will buy something for the baby, but wanted to make a gift just for mom. She's the one doing the work!
I don't really have the patience for an afghan, but thought a shawl or wrap of some sort might be nice (especially if she's breastfeeding.) Any suggestions?
