New Member Intro
Hi all,
My name is Karen and my interest in crochet was rekindled at a festival mid 2007. There was this wonderful woman crocheting beanies under a fig tree and she was very happy to show people how to make one (amazing beanies). Since then I've moved onto crocheting lap rugs and even a queen sized rug for relatives as gifts and to beautify our house.
At the moment I'm into crocheting soft toys and freeform dolls for my girls. Some of my other interests are wet felting, sock monkeys and sewing, gardening and growing food.
Glad to have found you all.
Cheers
Karen

All right, Karen! And a fellow Aussie too, I see. Welcome!

So glad you joined us, Karen!
Happy 2008,

Hello all
I am not so new at crocheting My grandmother crocheted and my mom crocheted as well I did a little and gave it all up when my kids were born but after my car accident I decided to pick it up again since I could not go back to work and now I am trying a lot of new things that I never had the desire to do before
Heya To everyone. I have been crochetting for 2 years now, but I am trying to learn how to read and do patterns. Most of my projects which are still in progress 2 years later are ones I just designed myself. I get the idea of the wording of the pattern but thats about it. I am glad to have found this site. Hope to find others who know more about the craft. Vanessa
Hi, all. I've been crocheting off and on since I was 5 years old, which makes it 45 years, now. I also knit, tat, needlepoint, etc, etc. About the only thing I *don't* do is macrame. I wish I had more time to do the stuff I love, but I work full time as a nurse and went back to college part-time 2 years ago. I resent the time I spend sleeping!
Hey everybody. I began learning to knit while pregnant with my son, who is now almost 2 years old. I never got very far with knitting, and when my family moved to Las Vegas in spring of 2007 I felt that crochet might be a bit easier for me.
Well, needless to say I'm still just learning. I haven't done a proper project from a pattern yet. Most of the time I just make it up as I go, and usually rip it out once in the process. :) I want to stick with a pattern, though. I just haven't gotten up the gumption yet. I'm still learning how to knit, too, but that's going even slower than my crochet.
Hello, all. I've been knitting and crocheting since last year. Especially I love crochetting. Yesterday, I got Crochet Me and knew this site. I've never crocheting written by English, but I'll try someday. Now I'm enjoying the picture that made from everyone, because of my poor English. Please help me when I crochet written by English.
Thank you.

Hello!
My grandmother first taught me to crochet when I was probably 7 or 8 years old. I made a pot holder, but lost interest and forgot about it until I was in high school. My junior year I picked it up again and started making scarves, hats, and other small projects for everyone and anyone. My senior year I discovered that it was easier for me to pay attention and listen in class if I had something to do with my hands, so I started a granny square afghan so that I could carry pieces around with me to class. I'm now a junior in college, and I can't crochet in class anymore because it makes it a little hard to take notes, but I still use a lot of my free time making things for my friends and family.
Excellent! Welcome.
