Hi! My name is Kathleen Eisenhour and I live in Lubbock, TX. I'm new to Crochet Me and just want to say Hi. I've crocheted and knitted since I was in first or second grade and really love it. I also enjoy Swedish weaving. I have 5 grandchildren-3 girls and 2 boys. I'm looking forward to being a part of this family.

Hi Kathleen, I am intrigued.... what is swedish weaving?

Swedish weaving is also known as Monk's cloth weaving. It's done on a cotton material that has very small raised loops and regular intervals. On Monk's cloth, I use regular yarn and a tapestry needle. You weave the yarn under the loops in a pattern. On kitchen towels, I use embroidery yarn. There is more information and pictures at this site: http://www.swedishweaveconnection.com/. Hope this helps! It is really a lot of fun!

I just looked up pics of Swedish weaving on flickr. Kudos to you! It looks incredibly labor intensive!

At first it is, but once you get a rhythm going, it really doesn't take too long. I love doing it. One yard makes a really unusual and different baby blanket.
