new to the forums
Hallo all! I'm a relatively new member who is completely new to these forums. I'm in the process of making a shirt for myself, using an existing, well-worn top as a template. This is the first time I've ever done something like this, and also the first clothing I've crocheted. I feel like I'm entering a new universe or something.
Scary, but exciting to be making something other than a hat or something that is flat and rectangular. Happily, though, the original shirt doesn't have much darting or anything, so it should be a bit easier to make.

Hi Kamakanani,
Admiration to you for striking out on your own to make a shirt. I need written patterns to start though I may not follow them exactly, but I need the training wheels.

Way to go, girl! Making clothes for myself has become my obsession for the last year or so. I keep thinking that once I get good enough I can start buying the really good yarn at the LYS's. So far I've had some cute, decently fitting things come out, and then there are those horrendous pieces that have to be hidden in a bag.......in the closet.......under something.
Stick with it, and good luck!
