magic circle

I am trying to do this sweater it starts out with the magic circle and the directions then say to do with color A make a magic ring chain 1 and work sc,hdc,dc in loop I understand this part but then it says chain 1 and work sc,hdc,dc in 1st loop this the part that stumps me can anyone help thanks

I expect it means you work ch1, sc, hdc, dc, ch1, sc, hdc, dc *all* into the first, and only, loop. I hope that works.
