Looking for one colour

Categorized As:

Can anyone help? I have been looking for months for one particular colour of Red Heart Comfort yarn to finish a 3-colour, diagonal stripe afghan project. The yarn I used had no dye lot, and is either COL. 3189 or COL. 3190 or a third COL no., probably very close to 3189 or 3190; I am no longer sure which wrapper came from which ball of yarn. The colour is closest to Heather, a shade that goes very well with the kind of desert pink that is one of the colours used in the afghan. It is not COL. 3200 which is more of a plum colour. Sigh. Beginner's problem: I changed the hook size for the pattern, & thought I'd matched the gauge, but should have also downsized the number of stitches too and now will end up with an oversize afghan. Luckily I can give it to an oversize person, assuming it can be finished. I bought 3 large balls (454 g) in 3 different colours at Dressew (on Hastings in Vancouver, $2 each!). I went back and purchased 1 more ball of 1 of the colours (pink) needed to follow the pattern, but inexplicably didn't get another ball of the second colour; and since they receive goods in lots and sell them, there are now none left in any colour at Dressew. I have been to two WalMarts where Red Heart Comfort yarn is sold in this size, and have found the same pink and red balls that I bought at Dressew, but not the desired "Heather". If anyone has some of this yarn in their stash, I will gladly buy it from you. Of course there is the painful alternative of taking out about 1/3 of the work I've done and using up some other suitable colour from my stash (which now unfortunately is top-heavy in purple!) and maybe I will have to swallow that. Still, crossing my fingers that someone can help ... Thanks!
