HELP!

When I make a blanket, starting with a grannie square and just keeping going until it's big enough - I end up with a peak in the middle. Even blocking it doesn't seem to help. I still end up with something vaguely pyramid shaped.
Any ideas where I am going wrong?

You don't have enough increases in each round for the height of your stitches. My stitches are too short and I often end up with ruffles.

Corner increases are usually 3 sc, 5 dc, etc. in each round. If changing the height of your stitch is too hard to do, I can't break my short stitch habit, try changing the number of increases on every round, every other round, or something that will work for you.

I'm sure there are other solutions. Anyone?

Good luck.

Are you making chains in your corners (like 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc)? Also are you chaining between the dc groups in the center (along your sides)? You could try adding a few extra chains...
