Is it Finished or Missing Something?

Categorized As:

I've made it this far with the hand puppet. Even named it
Mr Ribbet. I'm just looking at the picture and wondering if he needs anything to be finished or is he done?

Mr Ribbet

He is sooooo cute!
Perhaps a wacky tongue and some goofy eyes - but Mr. Ribbet looks done to me!

I love him. Can you post some pictures of Mr. Ribbet in action? :o)

I agree with Dharma, perhaps a tongue and eyes. I just got this new book that suggests using premo sculpty for making eyes, but that could be a choking hazard so maybe just safety eyes.. ooo and maybe a cute little fly to stick to his tongue, or maybe the tongue could roll up and velcro inside of his mouth for when he isnt using it. BTW this looks really great, I am very impressed, did you make up the pattern?

I would be interested in that book on making eyes with sculpty!

In retrospect I think I should have at least embroidered the eyes and added a protruding tongue. I always thought that I should have done a little more to him.

And yes, I made the pattern up myself. The eyes were a challenge, and also the webbed hands. They were the parts I loved about it the most. Probably because I actually got it right the first time and then I didn't want to mess with it too much for fear I'd mess it up.

He is gorgeous! Now any chance that you will write out the pattern for the rest of us?? :-)

Actually I was so excited with Mr. Ribbet that I published the pattern right here on CrochetMe. It's listed under toys, I believe, on the Patterns page.
