Ionic Bag

Categorized As:

Hello everyone,

I just finished this bag last night and I'm very happy with the result:

It took around 1 month as I got stuck in the middle and finished off some other projects before going back to it.

ETA. I call it my Ionic Bag. It's made using tapestry crochet.

That is quite simply GORGEOUS! I am so envious of your talent!

mad for crochet!OMG!! Beautiful. Did you make up the design? Is it inspired by native american design? I love it!

Thank you all for your compliments about my work. The structure of the bag was taken from Carol Ventura's "More Tapestry Crochet" book and amended slightly. The designs on the bag are mine. I doodled on a photocopy of the special graph paper in the book and got a few designs I'd like to work with. The bottom design came from Greek Ionic columns (hence the name), the top design came when I went back to the drawing board and was trying to make shapes that took advantage of the natural slanting when working in the spiral with tapestry crochet. I'm very happy I finally finished it (I got stuck after the first design for a couple of weeks).

Thanks for sharing!!! I really like your bag. It really turned out nice. My favorite print on it is the leaf/tree print. This would look great in fall colors as well!! Again, thnk your for the inspiration.
