the pattern for the ears are:
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 6 dc in first ch, ch 2, sl st in ring, pull starting ring closed (7 sc).
I do not understand how to crochet this.. :/

The first chain stitch is also the ring. You'd pull it closed by tugging on the yarn dangling from the first chain. Does that help?
Oh, and at the end it should say "(7 dc)" not "(7 sc)", but I think that was just a typo.
When you are done, it should look like a shell of 7 double crochet stitches which seems right for a bear's ear, say.
