How wide is your head?
Hi there. I'm making the Toque from It's Not Your Mama's Crochet, and wondered if anyone else has made this successfully. I've got to the final row of increasing, and the circumference of the hat is 20 inches, which is correct. The gauge is also correct at 12 sc = 4 inches. But it doesn't seem large enough to go over anyone's head? Has anyone done this pattern and can reassure me, or am I doing something stupid? (I'm a fairly new crocheter, though I have made hats before more successfully.)

What is your head size? If there is not much give in the hat, 20" would be tight on me. In other words, you may be crocheting fine, but the pattern is too small.
