Hi all!
Hello everyone! My screen name is ArielManx, my real name is Connie. I frequented the old CrochetMe forums before the spambot monsters and such forced them to shut down. I'm glad to see they're back up and running!
I'm an almost-30-year-old scientist living in Montana with my husband of almost 8 years. I taught myself to crochet a few years ago. As a pre-teen I wanted to learn and asked a relative to teach me. She said, "Oh, crochet will be too hard for you - I'll teach you to knit, instead." Well, since knitting wasn't what I wanted to learn, the lessons didn't stick. Fast forward 15 years or so, I pick up a 'teach-yourself-to-crochet' kit at Michael's, and haven't looked back since. I work mainly with yarn (so far) and love making gifts for friends and family. I'm at the age where many of my friends and cousins are having babies, so I've made a ridiculous number of baby gifts since I started crocheting...
I come from a long line of crafty women, so I've always been crafty. Embroidery was my first needlecraft, and I still absolutely love doing it. Much to my mother's dismay, I'm not much of a seamstress, but I do have a sewing machine, and I'm determined to get better at sewing. I've also dabbled in jewelry making, but I can't seem to put the hook and yarn down long enough to really get going on making anything.
Aside from crafting, I also love to read, cook, and travel with my husband.
I look forward to getting to know everyone and having lots of fun here!
Connie
