Hi

This new format was a nice surprise for me today. I usually read the Crochet me blog through my rss reader (just lazy). I'm not new to crochet, but I am new to any forum for crochet fans/addicts/fanatics.

I am a self-taught crocheter and I graduated from scarves and slippers a few years ago after a break from my hooks. I tend to waffle back and forth from cross stitch to Knifty Knitter to crochet and back. I started to take on more challenging crochet projects last year. By challenging, I mean anything that's not slippers or scarves. I have made as many afghans as I think I (or anyone else I know) will need for a while and I'm on to sweaters etc.

My current project is the Sera Lace Top from the current edition of Interveave Crochet which I happened upon in my local grocery store last week. Whoa!!!!! What a great magazine!

I'm looking forward to seeing what other people are working on as well as learning some new tips and tricks from you more experienced folks.

Hi Kim,

I'm glad you're here. That is a great magazine. I agree.

Hi Kim,

I look forward to talking crochet with you in the future.
I'm experimenting with different stitch techniques after mastering the basics. Is Interveave Crochet a mag in the US?

Hi Kim,
I am currently working on the Sera Lace Top. It is beautiful but I am having a hard time with the pattern. Probably just my inexperience. I am a self-taught crocheter too. Did you ever finish yours?? Maybe you could help me? I am just finishing up the top portion of the sweater. On page 18 of Interweave, second paragraph down. The directions say, "Work Rnds 2-4 of est patt once more." I was totally confused by this since what I just finished was rnds 4-12, which was to repeat rnds 2-3 four times, then do rnd 2 one more time. Do I just do rnd 3 one more time?
Then in the same paragraph it keeps referring to the next corner ch-5. If I am understanding the pattern correctly, (which I obviously am not) the corner spaces are ch-2 spaces.
Arrgh! I am so confused. :o(
