mad for crochet!

Hi Mysonshine,
I don't know about your area in particular, but have you asked around in any of your local yarn shops (LYS's)? Sometimes they are very knit-centric, but you may find a crochet friendly one that offers classes in crochet. If you search on You Tube for learn to crochet, you will find a lot of video tutorials to help you along. Try getting a book out of your local library, or buy one. Ask a lot of questions here on these forums and we can help you too. Good luck! but beware!... You may get hooked!! :)

Welcome! and I agree with Sarahcrit. There are lots of great websites for crochet and knitting and Crochet Me is one of them. Just don't hesitate to ask.

Again Welcome!

Happy Crocheting,

Hi and welcome! I agree, there are a lot of sites and YouTube has some great video tutorials. Also, Donna Kooler's Encyclopedia of Crochet has a very good "how to" section, even down to diagrams differentiating left-handed and right-handed technique. Once you pick up the basic stitches, you can make anything with a little patience.

Like Janine said, there are tons of videos on You Tube and some other crochet sites. Also, JoAnn Fabrics stores have classes all the time. Check with the store closest to you and see if they have anything available.

Or you could stop into a senior center and ask if there is someone there who loves to crochet. I bet that person would love to have a visitor to teach and you could not only learn to crochet you could give something back...:)
