im doing a baby blanket that calls for 88 sc stitches evenly on each the left and right side everytime i try to do it i either come up with 120 or 60 per side. Can you tell me what i am doing wrong?
mad for crochet!
Are you crocheting on the side of stitches you just made, perpendicular I guess? If so, then just crochet your 88sc not worrying to much where they go except that they should be as evenly spaced as you can get them to be.
I have found that it makes it easier if you measure out where the 1/2-way point is and then do (in your case) 44 sc to that point so you can get a better feel for how close or how far apart to evenly space your stitches. That way you're not ripping out a whole side and starting over and over again, and it's a lot easier to adjust your stitch spacing in that short distance.
need more info on pattern. How is it started, pattern st?
