Hello from Raleigh NC
Hi everyone. I'm very soon to be 27 years old and I just recently came back to crochet. My grandmother taught me how when I was little but I hadn't made anything since I was about 8. Within the past month I decided I wanted to learn again and started buying a ton of books. I've completed 2 projects so far (a scarf and a shawl.) I' loving it so far. I'm getting very excited. I've started to crochet a few squares trying to get gauge measurement down and I'm finding it very difficult. Any tips? I'm also going to see about joining in on a crochet a-long because I would like to work on something that others are doing as well to see if I'm doing it correctly. Wish me luck with my new hobby.

Welcome! With respect to gauge, if your swatch is too big, try a smaller needle and vice versa if too small. Hope to talk with you some more.

Hi Newbie,
Welcome. Linda's advice is good, but her knitting background is showing, lol. Needle?
