Hi everyone, I am soo very happy to have found this site. I will start off with asking you all if you are finding the new patterns that you purchase in stores today horrible.

I have been crocheting for years, taught by my mom who also crochets. Well, I bought a patteren book from Michael's crafts called "Kids Croched Ponchos" put out by "Amercian school of Needlework". I wanted to make matching poncho's for my two little granddaughters. Well first off following the directions for size (2) and than for size (4). It just doesn't work out. The directions call for only 19 sc going accross, you only make two pieces, which is not big enough for a 2 year old!!!

I states you need "med.worsted",and the symbol they use to describe that is the ##3,in the pattern.

BUT yet,the BACK of book shows # 3 as LIGHT and shows Medium worsted as ##4!!!
How can you have MED and Light at the same time!!

Than this only consists of 2 pieces total. and your suppose to put the 2 pieces together following their pattern which makes no scense to me. I even had my mom look at it who couldn't figue it out!! I just don't understand why patterns I have been buying lately do not make scense!! I would love to scan a copy of the patteren to you all but do not see an option to do that here.

I am just so annoyed. The stitches on the patteren are real nice and I would like to make this work but I don't see how!!!

I made a baby blanket last year and had to completly re-word the directions so they would make scense in order to complete. It's almost like some of these authors write in pig latin!!!
Just give me old fashoned straight forward directions that I can understand!!!
