Hello All!
Greetings fellow crocheters! I'm new to the forum and have been crocheting for about 15 years. I guess I'd rank myself an experienced intermediate. I just got my new book, Crochet Me, yesterday, and immediately sat down to devour. Such beautiful, creative things!! I was surprised, however, to find that not a single wearable was offered for plus sizes. As a big gal who crochets, I'm always on the look out for sweater and top patterns that have the capacity to "ample" up. I'd like to challenge all you designers out there to add additional sizes on your patterns. If you need help with the adjustments, let me know. I (and about 500 of my ample crocheting friends) would be happy to help. Looking forward to a successful new year.

Hi Susan,
I noticed that, too, lovely but too small. Yesterday I rediscovered "Cool Crochet" by Melissa Leapman, c. 2005, with sizes up to 3X. The straight skirt only goes to a 45" hip, but that's OK; I'll not be wearing it in any case. It's cute, but not for me even enlarged!
Have you been following Interweave's on-line Knitting Daily, "an online knitting guild meeting with everything but the brownies?" Kim Werker did a column for it and has taken up some of the suggestions for "Interweave Crochet" like giving suggested ease on the patterns, and I think the sizes are moving up at least a little.
I think there's hope for us bigger gals, but it's slow in coming.
Glad you're here, BTW.
