Enter your local Fair and volunteer to demonstrate

Please enter your local fair or show. County fairs in many locations are seeing a marked decrease in the "home arts". Sometimes it is hard to find a category, but use your imagination. And talk to the superintendent, volunteer to sit and stitch (demonstrate) and talk about what you do. It's a great way to spread the word that crochet isn't just doilies. I agree! It is a thrill to enter, and a big thrill if you win! I entered a cape in our little Ag fair last year, got third prize! This year I am going for first!!!

I started with a 6th place and worked my way up, I have gotten 1st places, but never purple, that is my goal.

I can't wait for ours this fall! I entered some photos my husband and I took(from our vacation) in last years fair and was AMAZED at all the categories for just fiber arts. Most of the entries were for quilting but there was a little of everything. This year I'm entering some crochet work and photos...if I can hold onto some of the stuff I make! lol
