Crochet Me book by Kim Werker

Categorized As:

Hi,

I'm new to this forum so I apologise in advance if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I am also new to crocheting but thankfully seem to have picked it up pretty well and have just completed my first hooded sweater-- which I love.

I'm thinking of buying Kim Werker's book but does anyone know if it covers larger ladies? About a English size 18? Not sure what the US equivalent is...sorry (I am English).

Many thanks

Sarah

Hi Sarah, glad to see you hear, and sorry I can't answer your question.

I think it's about a size 14 in US terms. I don't know for definite (I'll let you know when my copy of the book lands) but the Everyday Crochet book goes up to something like a 50" chest, so I would think you'd be OK.

Thank you for that-- I hadn't seen the Everyday Crochet book. It's now in my Amazon basket along with the Kim Werker book (I'll take a chance, the designs look so great)

Check out the Crochet-along forums for Jewel, No Sweat, Rah-Boon-Dee-Ay and others! We've been having a lot of fun with designs from Everyday Crochet.

I'll try to check back in on the question of sizes in the CrochetMe book later (after I break away from the computer where I have been sitting for far too long today!).

Charts on Wikipedia say a UK size 18 is 39.5 in to 41 inch bust measurement, equivalent to a U.S. 16 or XL.

Guess this means I still haven't gotten away from the computer corner and back to the yarn corner! (Or the "Cth Dimension" as Doris Chan called it!)

I looked at a few patterns in the Crochetme book and they go up to 41" or 42" bust.

Thanks Teresa...if I carry on jogging I might just be able to wear some of those designs...of course I'll have to crochet them first!!!

Thank you
Sarah
