Camo Skull Cap

Categorized As:

I made this Camo Skull Cap over the past two nights. I'm really happy with the shape of the hat, it's always been hard for me to get a good shape on a crocheted beanie, but I think this may be the best one so far. It is for a friend of mine and he was very specific about what he wanted, so I can't take credit for the design, but I did make up the pattern. The cap is done in a half-double crochet except for the last three rows, which are front post/back post double crochet, for a bit of ribbing. The skull is a crocheted patch. It's all in single crochet and I just made it up as I went along.

Wow! Looks great! Did you use self-striping yarn, or are all of those color changes done with different yarn?

It's Paton's Wool in Forest. So yep, self striping. The skull is from Cascade 220.

I love the crochet patch idea! In fact you inspired me to come up with a special hat for my nephew's christmas present. I'll post when it's finished.
