Books with larger size patterns needed!

Categorized As:

There are thousands and thousands of knitters and crocheters out there who take a larger size garment. I am a 2X and get so disheartened when the pattern size only goes to a L or XL. PLEASE, to those of you doing books, don't forget to include sizes 1X-5X and larger. There are so many women out there authors are missing because they aren't sizing their items larger. The math involved in making the items larger makes my head spin and then I don't want to make it!

Thanks!

Hear, hear!

But give some thought to the larger patterns. The styles should not just be enlarged boxy, shapeless patterns. If the shoulders are made wider, then don't make the sleeves longer. We seldom knuckle-walk.

I've been on a rant for a while about this. Years in fact.

Perhaps my last few days postings might assist. I've found it really helps to understand how Plus sized measurments vary.

I wish Potter Craft Books would come out with Big Girl Crochet. It would be nice to see how to shape a garment in crochet for larger sizes, as they do with the Big Girl Knit book. Also, a second BGK book is coming out next April. It doesn't seem fair, does it?

I don't like the title "Big Girl Crochet". This makes it seem like it is for the ages 6-10, who are not little girls any more and not teens. Come on, editors, you are more creative than this! Someone could come up with another more appropriate name for an adult women's book.

I've been fascinated by the term 'zoftig' since I first read it. Could the book be called *Zoftig Crochet*? Or is it 'zaftig'? Dang.
