I entered my dress in the Ag Fair and got a blue ribbon! whoo hoo! You may recognize the skirt, from an earlier post. I added the bodice and the sleeves since. I dyed it with lichen and it is definitely my favorite thing I have made so far.
mad for crochet!
Thankyou DanaLorz and wobbly for your nice comments. Parmelia lichen, which is prolific around where I live, is one of my favorite dyes. It smells nice and seems to make the yarn softer too. Amazing stuff.
Cheers! Sarah

I don't care for the color, but the stitching is very well done and I'm impressed with the effort that you put into it! The prize was well-deserved. :D

Hi Janine,
Thanks for your kind words. The lace pattern was from Angela Best's Tender Teal Leaves Sweater and I just improvised the dress design by the seat of my pants- my usual MO.

Otherwise known as Ms. Busy Fingers.
In my free time this winter I experimented a lot with dyeing yarn with natural stuff like oak bark and pine needles. The colors from nature are so alive! I've been crocheting for several years now - took to it with a vengeance! When I am not hookin, I take care of the rich people's gardens out here on this rock in the sea.
this is really lovely - and the color is just georgous! Congrats!
Happy Crafting!
absolutely beautiful!
lichens (& mosses) are among my favourite things - what a delight to see the lovely colour lichen has given to your handiwork.

This I absolutely love. You don't see very many lacy dresses like this, and your details makes it very special.
Congratulations! Great work!
I love crocheting!
