Hi Natasha. I live in Spokane and have been curious of the same thing. I'm an avid crocheter and have at least one friend, who's a beginner hooker, but would love to check it out.
I'm a newbie crocheter, and I'll be moving back to Spokane in January. I'd like to find a group so that I can continue to improve my skills and just to meet others.

Im new to crocheting and am desperate for a beginners learning group. im audio visual so books aren't really helping a friend showed me how to do granny squares and i just got so on a roll i have a 5' x 5' granny square now.. um i kinda forgot how to start them. anyway im working on making it a 8' x 8'. id like to learn how to read the code and how to increase decrease and change colors with out knotting it. basically totally new.
if anyone started a group or knows of classes or one in the same please let me know ^_^

A couple years ago there was a knitting (I assume crochet too, but it didn't say) group that met at the South Hill Library. I don't know if they still do. There is also a place in Downtown Spokane for poor and homeless women that has a knitting and crochet group. I met a friend there last winter, we both went to learn how to knit (I had taught myself crochet the winter before) on the same day (and have the same first name, and were the only 20some people present.) Unfortunately, most of the women who go to that are extremely, er, rude, so we both stopped going.
We have considered off and on since last spring starting our own group for crochet and knitting both, but don't have much funds for things like renting a location, advertising, or getting card tables if held in parks or such during good weather. If any of you would like to get together with us, we could figure out how to start a group for crochet and knitters. I have some related experience already, having been in girl scouts (the older girls run their own meetings, activities and funds) and have done a bit of teaching in crochet and a little less in knitting already, though I'm certainly not an expert in any of those areas.
My friend and I have done brainstorming already, but more brains are good, and we weren't sure if there would be anyone besides us actually interested.
