FAQ related to setting up your Crochet Me account and becoming familiar with how to use the community features on the site.
- How Do I Insert A Photo?
To insert a photo into a pattern, tip, forum post, or comment:
The image must be hosted on a server (we only provide hosting for the "main image" of a pattern or tip. For all other images, you can use a photo-hosting service like Flickr or Photobucket, or not; regardless, the images must reside on a server somewhere).
You insert an image using one of two methods:
Enter the HTML code directly: To do so, do not use the rich-text editor. Copy the following into the text box (without a space after the first bracket), replacing
the bit inside the quotation marks with the location of your image, which should be in a format like http://www.imagehosting.com/myaccount/myimage.jpg:< img src="the-link-to-the-file-goes-here" />
Note that if you use Flickr, you should enter the first link
that's given on the "all sizes" page of the photo (it's actually a bunch of code). This links the image back to
its Flickr page, thus fulfilling Flickr's requirement to do so.Use the rich-text editor:
At the bottom-left of the text box is a link to "enable rich-text." When you click the link, the text box works like a word processor, providing buttons along the top for bold, italics, etc. Click the icon that looks like a tree to insert an image. A box pops up; fill it in as follows:Image URL: Enter the file location of your image (beginning with http://, etc.)
Image description: Briefly describe the image (ex: My LOLcat is the funniest).
You can ignore the remaining fields unless you know what they mean.
Click "insert".
Note that if you use Flickr, you must enter the second link that's given on the "all sizes" page of the photo (not the link that's within a bunch of other text/code). This will allow CrochetMe.com to automatically link the image back to its Flickr page, thus fulfilling Flickr's requirement to do so.

No, we do not. Although we hate the buzz word, we like linking to be "organic". When we, the Admin Team, post content here, we link to sites we find relevant or useful. When CrochetMe.com members link to sites, we like to think they find those sites relevant or useful. If you find CrochetMe.com relevant or useful and would like to link to us from your site, please do! You do not need our permission, but do know we appreciate the link love.
