I'm an RN who was taught to crochet by another nurse in the early 80's. I had to put my crochet aside during the years that I was raising my 3 daughters. When my oldest daughter was expecting her first child she remembered that I had crocheted in the past. She asked me to make her a baby blanket. I picked my hook back up (after I re-educated myself!)and I've not put it down since--that was about 3 years ago now! I love to crochet afghans and blankets. I love taking balls of yarn and changing them into something beautiful. I find that crochet is very relaxing and therapeutic for me. Since I've started crocheting again I hope to teach the art to my grandchildren.
