To Spam: Gotcha!
As I've mentioned, comment spam is the single greatest thorn in my online side. And it's not just a petty annoyance - it's actually a big suck on our server resources. Kicked in the butt by my adventures fixing the site today, I sat Mr Cme down and we applied the magic that now allows me to enable one further barrier to comment spam: Captcha.
As of right this moment, in order to leave a comment on the site you'll be required to type in the letters that appear in a randomly-generated image (most Blogger blogs require this, too, so I'm sure you're familiar with it). This is the internet's way of separating the humans from the spam-bots, and I do very much hope that it'll have the effect of both keeping our server happy and keeping my site-related annoyances to a minimum.
So, please comment. Comment lots!

My friend is slick! Your site is one I do check out for the latest in crochet today. I have good taste and look for the sites with plenty of gems to add as inspiration. I like to pull from many sources to feed my insatiable creative appetite. Cheers Judi
I am not sure if the verification is working as should. Don't think it should have asked me twice for input or leave not verified. Now testing the Filtered HTML to see what the out come will be. Judi
I am not an expert but do feel that something needs tweaking with the software for your verification. I don't think it should have let me pass through if it couldn't verify or message upon verification needs to be changed so that it shows "verified" by the submitted name. Just food for thought... Judi
Judi - "Verified" has nothing to do with comments - it has to do with whether commenters are registered on the site (registration is not open, so all commenters are "not verified").
