Crochet bloggers, our time has come! Without further ado, we present to you mycrochetblog.com.
Oh boy, kids! I'm too excited to sit still. We've teamed up with the wildly talented knit pixie owner/ crocheter/blogger/web designer Missa to bring you a blogging option that was created JUST for crocheters.
Now, the project is still in its infant stages. Right now we are offering a free, ad-supported, hosted blogging option using WordPress. You can adopt a blog that's already been deliciously designed. How easy! All you have to do is apply to adopt the blog you want, and you're good to go. In the near future, you'll be able to set up a subdomain and customize a blog yourself, for the ultimate in self-expression. We already have a couple of ready-made crochet blog templates eager to be adopted into loving crochet homes, and more are on the way. (Anthropomorphizing blogs is fun. You should try it.) Run, don't walk!
Mycrochetblog.com is by crocheters, for crocheters. Missa and I couldn't be more excited about this, and we hope you'll enjoy this fab new blogging service.
Please bear with us as we build all of this up, and do be generous with your feedback. We want to know what you think so we can provide the best service ever. Evah. Word. Blog on.

Congratulations Kim and Missa and a big THANK YOU! How nice of you to create a space for all of us to blog together! I'm still a blogging newbie and am fast becomming very attached to "My Happy Vida Loca", but I'm willing to give WordPress a try...Hey, you convinced me to dump my IE - where you go I'll follow.xoxo
Nice job! Your hard work paid off. It looks great!
You and Missa have done an awesome job for the crochet community. Great work.
I'm a little confused. Are there going to be more blogs up to "adopt" or can more than one person adopt the formats that are up now? Because I really dig either of them, but I'm not crazy about the WhyMe? name and the other one already has a claimant, so I'm interested to see if more subdomains come up.
I hope that didn't come off as ungrateful or demanding, I'm honestly clueless. I am totally excited and impressed by what you all have done.
Thanks, everyone!Anne -- I'm working on a response to your question. I'll email it to you and also post it here and at mycrochetblog.com, because it's a really good question and it's not very well explained yet. I'm so glad you're excited! And we'll help you figure it all out. :)
*An answer to Anne's Question:*There will definitely be more blogs up for adoption; due to the time it takes to design and configure them, new blogs will be announced only as they're ready. As time passes we'll get a better feel for how frequent this is.Another option is to request a "default" blog that is not specially designed for adoption, and that does not include custom banners/buttons. In this case, you can choose the name of your subdomain and configure your blog in any way you choose. WordPress conveniently comes with a tidy and attractive default template, so you'd be good to go ASAP.So, for now, it's a factor of priorities. If you want to start blogging right away but don't love any of the blogs currently up for adoption, you can request a default blog. If you want a gorgeous, professionally-designed blog, then you can haunt the site until the perfect one comes up for adoption. Regardless, we'll be posting many more tips for using WordPress, and we hope you'll stick with us as we grow and stumble upon bigger and better ways of providing these services.
Leave it to awesome crocheters to be so kind and generous. I'm already using wordpress on my own blog, but I just wanted to chime in and say GREAT JOB!
