Check out Escama bags. They're made by members of a couple of Brazilian women's cooperatives, by crocheting nylon thread and incorporating aluminum pop can tabs. Now that is just rad. (Link via Carol + MoCo Loco.)

I have the can tabs! Lol.I am wondering how they cut off the "sharp" part of the tab so it won't cut you. I also noticed that the bags are lined, so I am sure that helps.

I bought one of those bags when I went to Brazil. Mine isn't lined, but I LOVE my bag... My only problem is that ppl ask me all the time if I made it or not. It's gettin on my nerves...
