As one final example of the beauty and versatility of the spike stitch, here is a felted purse made with the same version of the spike stitch as the Clutch. Instead of using high contrast colors, though, this uses similar tones to create a sunrise effect. It's simple construction, using 2 rectangles and a paper bag bottom technique, is easy enough to figure out and I encourage you, instead, to try your own hand at design.
